nitty gritty details
We are excited to present the third annual Bowling & Bolos Invitational - to raise thousands for a good cause. What started as a desire to bring our community together (*cough* party) for the Calgary Stampede has inspired us to build up our city and muster up some good karma ahead of a big night out.

ABOUT

What started as a desire to bring our community together for a morning of lawn bowling ahead of the Calgary Stampede has inspired us to build up our city and support the charities that make our community a better place to be. Each year, we host young professionals, activists, entrepreneurs, movers and shakers to compete. Here is the kicker – the winning team will award their winnings to their charity of choice.

The Unconventional Charitable Approach
We understand that approaching a charity event in this way is unconventional, but beyond making a
difference for the winning cause – Bowling and Bolos aims to highlight the value of collective impact and
community care. We hope to bring attention to a number of causes, the power of leveraging our
resources and the urgency of seeing well-being more than an individual’s responsibility but as
something that each of us can contribute to and shape together. Every dollar makes an impact.
There are a few parameters to the selected causes (each of which will be vetted by our team of social
workers and strategists ahead of the event):
● No donations to political parties;
● No religious activities;

● Must be registered and operate in Alberta.

2022 & 2023 winning cause

Smiles Thru Lindsey Foundation
Smiles Thru Lindsey was founded in 2015 by Rick and Cindy More after their daughter Lindsey tragically took her own life. The More’s hope is to see the endowment fund bring aide to those who suffer, for many years to come. To date the community has raised over $500,000 for the fund, allowing the foundation to deliver significant grants to three local school divisions for the development of programs that will help young students with their mental health. The foundation is also instrumental in the creation of the Central Alberta Child Advocacy Centre.
